MD0630T01A is a residual current detection RCD, When an electric shock or leakage fault occurs in the circuit, the secondary side of the transformer outputs a mA level current (DC 6mA, AC 30mA), so that the equipment on the connected secondary line will be protected (cut off the power supply, alarm signal, etc.)
This RCD module detects DC currents flowing in an AC system. For example, in electric vehicle charging stations or from solar panels. DC currents flowing in an AC system may cause a Type A RCD or a Type F RCD to be blinded. This RCD module can be used to detect any DC current level above 6mA and its output can be used to operate a relay or a contactor to disconnect the AC supply, and display an error message on the screen of EVSE system, and wait for a user to reset the error.
Product Description
This product is fully compliant with TUV/CE-EMC
The MD0630T01A is a residual current monitor intended for the detection of DC and AC residual currents in 50Hz/60Hz AC installations.
The MD0630T01A is primarily intended for use in Mode 2 Electric Vehicle In-Cable Control and Protection Devices (IC-CPDs) and Mode 3 Wallbox Charger, to disconnect the supply to the Electric Vehicle under an AC or DC residual current fault condition.
The MD0630T01A may also be used to detect DC or AC residual currents in DC, single phase or multiphase installations.
The MD0630T01A is a compact solution designed to be mounted directly onto a PCB.

Why a DC 6mA or a Type A/B RCD been required in IC-CPD and AC Charger/Wall-Box application?
The existing type A RCD can only in the detection of pulsating dc leakage from 6 mA dc current interference, and can’t detect dc leakage and disconnect protection, when DC leakage is more than 6 mA, due to the DC residual current will cause core magnetization in advance, make tripping value deviation, lead to type A RCD can’t normal movement. Therefore, type B RCD or A+6mA protection must be used!
